An Independent Academic Center
at Ashland University

Teaching America's Founding Principles

While the Ashbrook Center is a part of Ashland University, the Center is governed by its own independent board and is responsible for raising all of the funds necessary for its many programs.

There is a growing movement across America to create independent academic centers at colleges and universities. The Ashbrook Center is the first and finest example of one of these centers.

The Ashbrook Center's connection to Ashland University guarantees donors that the Center will continue to have a deep impact on undergraduate and graduate students at Ashland University. The Center's independent structure guarantees donors that their gifts to the Center will continue to be used for the purposes for which they were given.

About the Ashbrook Center. The John M. Ashbrook Center, located on the Ashland University campus, was established and named in honor of the late Congressman who represented Ohio’s 17th Congressional district for 21 years. The Ashbrook Center is devoted to the study, research, discussion, and perpetuation of the great traditions of America, to which John Ashbrook dedicated his life's work. These concepts were re-emphasized by President Ronald Reagan when he personally dedicated the Center on May 9, 1983.

More about the Ashbrook Center.
